DO NOT FEED DRY –THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS UNMOLASSED SUGAR BEET AND MUST BE SOAKED FOR 60 SECONDS BEFORE FEEDING. Introduce a new feed gradually over 7 to10 days building up to the amounts needed to maintain condition and energy levels (0.25 – 5.0kg depending on size, type, workload and condition). Place feed in a shallow bucket, add twice as much water as feed, then stir. Wait 60 seconds before feeding this product. Unmolassed chaff or soaked Fast Fibre can be added after soaking, if adding unmolassed chaff, stir well before feeding. Suitable for laminitics. Do not feed to sheep. This feed is made from natural ingredients, so may change colour slightly through the seasons, or take longer to soak. If the feed is not soaking quickly enough, please leave to soak for longer, or soak the feed in warm water, then stir, until it forms a nice soft mash. IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: To get the best results from Veteran Light, please make sure that you do not feed any other products that contain barley or molasses. Many traditional feeds contain barley and / or molasses which can cause excitability in some horses. Even horses that do not become fizzy as a result of these ingredients can benefit from a low starch and sugar feed such as Veteran Light.

1 Stubbs scoop holds 1.5kg of dry Veteran Light. Please note, all feed amounts are in dry weight/per day.

  • William is 22yrs and thrives on his Veteran Light, coming third at this year's Veteran Nationals in the Supreme In Hand Final. He's flying the flag for 'golden oldies' and still competing in dressage and showing with my daughter.

  • My two welsh cobs, Ristol Charm (27 years old) and Ristol Corrine (19 years old) have both been fed Veteran Light for the past 18 months. They are extremely good doers and require very little else except ad lib hay. They have both won showing classes recently, with the judges commenting on their fantastic condition. I am so proud of them and the condition they are in, thanks to your feed. I think that finding a suitable feed, fed correctly brings great results but most importantly good general health.

  • Spellbound Tobias (Tobias) is a 17 year old 17.1hh bay gelding, half Shire and half American Saddlebred. We have owned him since he was 3, over the years Tobias has competed at various levels of dressage up to Advanced Medium. Tobias is fed on Veteran Light and does so well on it, his weight is kept correct and it's wonderful to have the advice from Allen & Page on hand.

  • Henry is 22 years old, and has been on your feeds for 12 years (since I have owned him). Competing at Affiliated Dressage, he has received many comments on how he does not look his age. Even after a recent illness where he would hardly eat, the only thing he wanted was his Veteran Light. Thank you Allen & Page for keeping my boy looking so good.

  • In 2013, Sam, now aged 19 retired from military duties as he had been diagnosed with navicular and arthritis in both hocks. On advice from Allen & Page's very helpful nutritionists, during the challenging summer months, I have changed his feed from Fast Fibre to Veteran Light. Sam continues to compete at local shows winning best condition and working hunter classes. Sam is in very good condition, I am grateful for the help and advice given by the Allen & Page nutritionists.

  • We rehomed Gilbert when he was 22, originally to be a companion pony, he had skin problems and EMS so we needed to find suitable feed. He is extremely fussy, but Gilbert loves Veteran Light. It's easy to make, and has been fantastic during the hot weather for getting extra fluid into him. He looks fantastic and now has a full mane and tail and a super shiny soft coat. He's now 26, he's gone from a sad pony to this year's VHS Supreme M&M and Supreme Diamond Veteran (Ridden). Not bad going for an old companion pony!

  • Both our 27 year old veteran pony and 15 year old warmblood are thriving on a combination of Fast Fibre and Veteran Light. I couldn't be more pleased with the results I have had for two very different horses on A&P feeds!

  • Allen & Page recommended we put 18 year old Indy onto Veteran Light, adding Power & Performance when needed for competing. The rest is history, Indy is looking and feeling amazing, since he has been on A&P, his stamina has increased hugely and the shine on his coat is just amazing.

  • Since changing to Veteran Light Queenie has maintained a consistent weight, while building muscle. Queenie works hard, but Veteran Light maintains her energy levels, without making her fizzy and her coat is always sparkling! I always get compliments about her amazing condition.

  • Barbie is 25 years old and a very good doer. She is fed on Veteran Light because it has all the nutrients she needs for her age without piling on the pounds. Everyone comments on how great she looks & how they can't believe her age. Winning the Scottish VHS Veteran of the Year title only goes to show how this feed benefits her.
